BART to Livermore? Boost for Tri Valley Home Owners

BART extending to Livermore could be a boost for Livermore Home owners, Dublin Home owners and Pleasanton home owners, not to mention the positive effect it will have on minimizing the congestion on one of the most heavily congested freeways in the Bay Area, I-580.

How can BART improve home values?
One of the major concerns we find with Tri Valley home buyers is commute time. If you live off Vasco compared to a Dublin Ranch home, you could expect an additional 15 minutes commute time between the two points, and this is off commute peak times! With BART’s extension more home buyers will see commute time as less of an obstacle when home buying in Livermore.
Here are some route proposals from BART
I-580 Median to Greenville Road
I-580 Median to Vasco Road ACE Station via Los Positas Road
I-580 Median to Vasco Road ACE Station via Vasco Road
I-580 Median to Isabel Avenue / Stanley Boulevard via Isabel Avenue
I-580 Median to Isabel Avenue / Stanley Boulevard via Quarry Road
I-580 Median to Isabel Avenue / Stanley Boulevard via El Charro Road
I-580 Median to Isabel Avenue / Stanley Boulevard via West Jack London Boulevard
I-580 Median to Livermore Central via Portola/Junction Avenue
I-580 Median to Livermore Central via Quarry Road and Union Pacific Railroad

Currently a project is under way to add High Occupancy Vehicle lanes (HOV) to I-580, this is the construction we currently see. How will this improve the potential billion dollar cost to add BART?

Whats Coming to Downtown Pleasanton

Downtown Pleasanton is a great place to get great food, relax outside Tully’s and enjoy street parties and concerts in the park. Downtown Pleasanton is a great place, ill say it again! So whats coming to some of the vacant buildings…

Kolln Hardware building

Dallas based Comerica Bank will be the main tenant and plans to open in earl 2009, a yogurt shop will occupy the building, and there are three retail spaces available on the bottom floor and either two retail or office spaces on the second floor.

Coffee Beans and Bistro

Baci Cafe owner Michael Hughes is opening a second restaurant called Cafe Main and will specialize in high-end pizza, burgers and fresh seafood.

Domus Building

The Downtown Association will not say who has expressed an interest in this building, but they did say they expect a tenant by the holidays ‘08.

Downtown Pleasanton for most is a destination for shopping, restaurants and place to relax outside of the home or office, so what is really needed in Downtown Pleasanton…? More restaurants, coffee shops, retail or is there something Downtown Pleasanton is missing?

Looking for a ‘Green’ home in Pleasanton? How about a ‘Green’ Community.

I was doing some research on Green homes in Pleasanton and came across Castle View Estates. Castle View Estates is the first totally green community in California.

Castle View Estates

  • Build your own home on a 1-2.5 acre lot
  • Gated Community
  • Views of Mt. Diablo and Livermore Valley
  • Water / Sewer - processed and recycled back to land and crops
  • Power provided by solar and wind
  • Starting at $650,000

Pleasanton has the first ‘green community’ in California. What that means is that the community recycles all of its energy needs. Just off Happy Valley road in Pleasanton.

Update: Save Pleasanton’s Hills & Housing Cap Initiative

Leave a Comment | Be The First To Comment

At the Pleasanton City Council meeting on July 15 @ 7:00 the council will meet to discuss adopting two resolutions.

  • Adopt a resolution placing the Save Pleasanton’s Hills & Housing Cap initiative on the November 4, 2008 ballot; and approve related Election procedures.
  • Adopt a resolution placing an initiative measure to protect ridgelines and hillsides and to clarify growth management procedures on the November 4, 2008 ballot; and approve related election procedures.
  • City Council Agenda 7-15-08

More than 5,000 Pleasanton residents signed a petition asking the Pleasanton City Council to place an initiative on the ballot which would limit development on Pleasanton hillsides. Some of what is asked for is.

    • Limiting development on hillsides with grades greater than 25% within 100 feet of a ridgeline
    • Stricter definition of ‘housing unit’ increasing the current number of residential units in Pleasanton

Supporters are looking for an ordinance that would stop developments like Oak Grove in Pleasanton which is a 51 lot custom home development on 496 acres in the southeast hills of Pleasanton.
